Books Mentioned
Over at Susan Wise Bauer’s Well-Trained Mind site, she is touting what she calls “Self-Education,” saying that
“The great bonus of classical education is the fun that parents have ‘catching up’ on material they never learned in school.”
I guess great minds think alike because that is what I said in Reason #5 of the Ten Reasons to Homeschool.
She has a forum over there for parents to discuss how to continue their own education.
And as you are probably already aware, the site as a whole is a great resource for implementing classical education for your homeschooled students or for a private school wanting to switch to the classical method. Her book The Well-Trained Mind is compendium of information and methodology and is one of the first resources anyone interested in classical education acquires.
We’ll discuss classical education in posts in the future but for now, check out the self-education resources over at her site.
